Dr. Bimal grew up in the Himalayan foothills of Nepal and obtained his veterinary degree in 2002. He started his career working with farm and companion animals. His interest in preventive medicine led him to acquire further training in preventive veterinary medicine and population health from the University of California, Davis, and the University of Guelph.
During his career, he has worked in various settings within Veterinary Medicine – clinical practice, diagnostic toxicology, public health, and academia. He makes client education a vital aspect of the health care of his patients. With a belief that learning never ends, he participates in continuing education regularly to keep up with advancements in veterinary medicine. He enjoys working with pets across Okanagan and their human companions. He has a special interest in diseases of the skin and preventive veterinary medicine.


Surgical/Anesthesia Assistant
Sumitra Khatri is a surgery/anesthesia assistant at Alpine Pet Hospital. She comes from a human nursing background but considers caring for animals her true calling. She has worked in animal health for over five years and loves caring for our patients. She enjoys travel and gardening. She adores her neurologically challenged feline companion and is also a “supermom.”

Teresa is originally from Calgary and has been in Kelowna for 14 years. She has always been around and respected animals, having grown up and worked on several farms, and has always owned many animals, including goats and donkeys. Along with her general administration and technical duties, Teresa is crucial in follow-up care for our chronic care patients. She routinely discusses patient progress with pet owners and reports her findings to the veterinarian. She also plays a significant role in helping our practice closely monitor and fine-tune treatment protocols and is always ready to help our patients and their owners with a warm, friendly smile. She holds a Veterinary Office Assistant course from the Okanagan Centre for Arts and Technology. She has three rescue cats of her own. She loves her dual role as a customer service rep and assisting in veterinary care.

Katie’s hobbies include reading, playing video games, and listening to her favourite music. She loves being a part of the alpine team and can’t wait to meet you and your pets!
